NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT, UNITED STATES, Oct. 4, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — The William Reese Company, the world’s leading antique dealer of printed and manuscript Americana, is pleased to announce the continuation of the William Reese name and book retail tradition the new owner of a joint venture between New York-based bookseller James Cummins and Peter Harrington, London. Business will continue at the company’s existing premises in Temple Street, New Haven.

The late William S. Reese (1955-2018), known as one of the leading antiquarian book dealers of his generation, founded the New Haven, Connecticut-based William Reese Company in 1975 and left an indelible impact on trade and book collectors worldwide. After his untimely death four years ago, the company successfully continued under the direction of his widow, Dorothy Hurt, with longtime Reese Company specialist Terry Halladay in charge of the literature department and Nick Aretakis in charge of the Americana department. Two new book specialists in Americana will join the team next month.

The company was purchased along with its substantial inventory of around 40,000 items. Day-to-day operations continue seamlessly under Aretakis, with no change to the Reese Company’s highest standards of book retailing and customer service. The company’s location, name and contact information also remain unchanged, and printed catalogs and e-lists continue to be issued frequently. James Cummins Bookseller and Peter Harrington are proud to be part of the continuing legacy of William Reese.
