Thanks to their efforts, Amazon picked up the hit science fiction show, and now we have it The wide Season 6 to look forward to. So fans could save The wide from an early grave.

The wide had a limited but successful run on SyFy. Seasons 1 through 3 of the show received critical acclaim – Season 3 still has a score of 100% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and 97% from fans.
Even so, SyFy decided to pull the plug on the series after Season 3 ended. Why? Right. SyFy lost money on the show thanks to the streaming status of the first three seasons on Amazon Prime Video.
When SyFy signed The wide they signed linear rights to their offers. This meant that Alcon could sell the streaming rights and international distribution to other providers – in this scenario to Amazon.
Eventually, SyFy found that they were paying for special effects for a show with a huge budget while only holding linear rights. The wide always strived to maintain scientific integrity wherever possible, which meant creating some incredible CGI scenarios – an expensive endeavor. SyFy simply hasn’t been able to streamline its spending with the returns it generates.
Fans have campaigned for #SaveTheExpanse on Amazon
The wide Fans were devastated when SyFy canceled Season 4. It wasn’t long before they banded together in an attempt to save their beloved show. The hashtag #SaveTheExpanse became a call for fans who started signing petitions. A Change.org petition collected over 100,000 signatures.
That wasn’t all the fans expected The wide, However. A Crowdfunding effort was launched by fans to fly a plane with a “#SaveTheExpanse” banner over the Amazon Studios in Santa Monica for a day. Celebrities also answered the call, including Patton Oswalt and Wil Wheaton, as well as writer George RR Martin and astronaut Andreas Mogensen.
The wide The authors’ Twitter account thanked the fans for their dedication and efforts to perform the airplane stunt.

During a banquet following their panel discussion, Jeff Bezos announced Amazon’s plans to pick up the popular show.
“I just found out ten minutes ago that The wide is saved. The show is extraordinary and these guys are incredibly talented, â€Bezos announced to cheers and applause.
“You can’t ignore Jeff Bezos himself, who loved these books when they first came out – the Kindle introductory screen would have ‘Leviathan Wakes’ because it was a huge e-book for Amazon,” said showrunner Naren Shankar. per kind.
“But what I loved the most was when we were at that crazy dinner at the space conference, when we were giving a panel on the science of ‘The Expanse,’ and Jeff Bezos was there to be honored, he announced that Amazon saved ‘The Expanse’ and we’re all going crazy, â€he added.

It’s a bittersweet win, however, as Season 6 will be the final part of the show. However, Naren Shankar has remained a little vague about the future of the series. He has stated that season 6 has a natural ending point for the series, but that there are possibilities for the future.
“Look, at the end of Book 6 there is a natural ending that closes this chapter of the show as well as the big story, but also leaves the door open for later,” Shankar said Weekly entertainment.
It remains to be seen if fans will get the chance to see books 7 through 9 for the big or small screen, but Wes Chatham has suggested that something is on the way. During one Interview with Collider, he indicated that there is a project he cannot be specific about.
“I uh … I’m very careful, but I’m just saying who knows what will happen after Season 6. And I say this – the fans won’t be disappointed and this is a place to celebrate. It’s not sad and that’s all I will say about it, â€Chatham teased.
