While Bradenton paves the way to the title, only Indianapolis, Greensboro and the two DSL teams remain in action. Greensboro is free today and their streak continues tomorrow at Bowling Green. It is now effectively a best-of-three. The game DSL Pirates vs. Pirates scheduled for today was canceled yesterday. The gold team’s Monday game was also canceled, the black team’s not, so it appears that one team had some sort of COVID exposure.
INDIANAPOLIS
(8:05 pm)
Start mug: Beau Sulser 3.2, 9 H, 10 ER, 3 BB, 3 K
Remarkable achievements:
Cal Mitchell 1-4, 2B
Michael Chavis 1-3, HR (13), HBP
Mason Martin 1-4
Canaan Smith-Njigba 0-4
Diego Castillo 0-1, 2 BB
Game summary:
Beau Sulser got off to a disastrous start when Indianapolis (58-65) lost to Omaha 12-3. Sulser gave up ten runs over three and two-thirds innings. The pounding didn’t stop until he was thrown out, so apparently the umpires were more merciful than the Indy manager. Cam Alldred followed with three scoreless innings despite three hits and four walks. Michael Chavis drove his 13th AAA home run in two races. Cal Mitchell drove a double in the other run. Indy only got five hits. Oneil Cruz and Rodolfo Castro are off.
