Journalist Zahiduzzaman’s family hands over budget documents to the ERF library for 52 years

The family members of the late journalist Zahiduzzaman Faruque handed over to the Economic Reporters Forum (ERF) library today 52 years of budget documents and other business-related books previously kept in the collection of the country’s renowned business journalist.

The son of the late Zahiduzzaman Faruque, Mohiuzzaman Faruque, along with his wife Farhana Khan, handed over the budget documents and books to ERF President Sharmeen Rinvy and General Secretary SM Rashidul Islam for a program in the ERF office in the capital, Purana Paltan, according to a press release .

Former ERF Presidents and some senior ERF members were present on this occasion.

The late Zahiduzzaman Faruque had worked as a business journalist for over four decades while his hobby was keeping household documents, other business-related books, and various data and information in his collection. From 1968 he began to keep household documents in his collection.

On this occasion Mohiuzzaman Faruque said: “My father’s passion and profession was journalism and research and writing on various aspects of the economy. In his long career he kept household documents and various business-related books, data and information from his holdings. Purpose of Surrender of these books and documents is the proper use of the same. “

ERF President Sharmeen Rinvy said the late Zahiduzzaman Faruque worked his entire life to spread business journalism in Bangladesh. “For this he had collected various types of documents on economics that will help in future business journalism.”

ERF General Secretary SM Rashidul Islam said that a separate corner would be set up in the ERF library named Zahiduzzaman Faruque to display all the documents and books from his previous collection. In addition to journalists, these documents can also be used by economists, researchers and others.

On August 19, Zahiduzzaman Faruque died of cancer.
