The Corsicana City Council will meet on Monday September 27th at 6 p.m. in the Council Rooms of the Government Center, 200 N. 12th St.

The following items are on the city council’s agenda on Monday:

• Receive public contributions towards the adoption of the budget for the 2022 financial year.

• Receive public contributions to ratify the increase in property tax reflected in the adopted budget for fiscal year 2022 and acknowledge that the increase will increase tax revenue more than the adopted budget for fiscal year 2021.

• Receive public opinion on the introduction of the tax rate of $ 0.6120 for fiscal year 2022.

• Receive public contributions on a zoning application from Agriculture (A) to Commercial (C) for Block 1410, Lot 2, located at 3708 South Interstate Highway 45 W.

• Receive public input on a proposed amendment to Chapter 13, entitled Municipal Fees of the City Code, to include changes and additions to certain fees.

• Consider adopting the 2022 budget.

• Consider ratifying the property tax increase included in the adopted 2022 fiscal year budget and recognizing that the increase will increase tax revenue more than the 2021 fiscal year adopted budget.

• Consider adopting the tax rate of $ 0.6120 for fiscal year 2022.

• Consider applying for a zoning change from Agriculture (A) to Commercial (C) for Block 1410, Lot 2, located on 3708 South Interstate Highway 45. Changes and additions to certain fees.

• Consider approving an inter-local agreement between the City of Corsicana and the County of Navarro for the provision of library and animal shelter services.

• Consider approving an ambulance contract between the city of Corsicana and the municipality of Navarro.

• Executive Session: The Council will withdraw to a private or executive session to seek legal advice under Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code, to discuss certain property-related matters under Section 551.072 of the Texas Government Code, and to discuss negotiations on economic development under Section 551.087 of the Texas Government Code.

• Return to the open meeting: the Council will examine the issues raised during the executive meeting as necessary and act accordingly.
