Prancing Porch Pirate (PPD)

While the chances are sometimes slim, it is much easier to catch offenders, including veranda pirates, when video surveillance is involved.

PASCO POLICE LOOKING FOR THIS PERP

Thursday afternoon, December 16, this guy was seen prancing on a porch on the 1900 block of North 17th in Pasco.

The large package on the porch was grabbed and he started off.

According to crime states reported by Finder.com, 14 percent of Americans reported having a shipment stolen from their porch in the past 12 months (between July 2020 and this summer 2021).

Nationwide, just over 35 million deliveries never reached their destination, they were taken away. Across the generations, Millennials report the most thefts by far, followed by Gen X. The other generation groups reported very low rates.

Finally, 35% of porch pirate victims last year “only” took one package with them, 30% said it happened twice, but then the rate drops to less than ten percent for the third, fourth or fifth time.
