Wild at Heart Safari

Saturday, February 12, 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m

The Honolulu Zoo Society is hosting a special event where the animal kingdom gets a little wilder. The guided tour focuses on the courtship and mating habits of some of our favorite zoo residents – who still loves to see elephants devour their trunks? As part of the cuddly toy love festival, guests are treated to a light dinner and refreshing mocktails. The night ends with fun celebrations including trivia games and prize draws. This is an 18+ show, contestants must have their vaccination records or a negative COVID-19 test, and face masks must be worn except while eating and drinking.

$60 for HZS members, $70 for non-members, 151 Kapahulu Ave., (808) 926-3191, honoluluzoo.org

National Pizza Day

February 9th

Grab your slice, cut baby! Join the rest of the nation on February 9th in celebrating the home cooking champion for young keiki, college students and busy parents. If you need suggestions on where to go, read this article written by HONOLULU employees who shared their favorite pizza places. Recommendations include crispy, crunchy crusts drenched in egg yolk, homemade pies with fresh toppings, and of course, bubbly, hot, gooey slices from J. Dolan’s, Magoo’s, and Round Table. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we had to say goodbye to the good cakes at Agostino’s Pizza, one of the honorees, but hopefully again soon.
