If we have learned anything in the last eighteen months of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have found that your health is really everything. The bad news is that medical care is expensive and time consuming. The good news, however, is that the El Paso City Health Department and El Paso Fire Department will be working with the Abundant Church and local health organizations to give the public the opportunity to get some health checkups for free.
The health and wellness fair will take place on Sunday, September 19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1000 Valley Crest Dr Services. The free demonstrations and services that you can take advantage of during the fair are:
Blood pressure screening
Body Mass Index Screening
Rapid test to detect sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
Pneumonia 65 years and older, shingles 50 years and older and Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough) vaccines
The El Paso Fire Department will be distributing free flu shots to people aged 65 and over. People aged 12 and over can vaccinate both the first and second dose against COVID-19 free of charge. The Ministry of Health also provides vaccinations and dental care for people aged 6 months to 21 years. You must pre-register with the Rawlings Mobile Dental Clinic at (915) 497-5070.
Pneumonia, shingles, and tetanus vaccines for adults over 18 are available by calling (915) 212-6517. All information is available when you log in to EPHealth.com.
