Harvin Clarendon County Library Board meets July 18

MANNING – The Harvin Clarendon County Library Board will meet July 18 at 4:30 p.m. at the Clarendon County Administration Building at 411 Sunset Drive.

The agenda includes a financial report for May 2022, as well as reports from the Librarian, Friends of the Library and the Chairman of the Board.

At the meeting, the board will also discuss the vacancy for the library director, as well as a presentation of a potential candidate and the selection of an interim director.

The session is public.



The Clarendon Consolidated School District has an out-of-district registry

CLARENDON COUNTY — The Clarendon Consolidated School District is holding out-of-district student registration only from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 11-14.

In person registration is only at East Clarendon Middle/High School, Scott’s Branch Middle/High School and Manning High School.

Registrants will be asked to provide a discharge letter and payment, a detailed birth certificate, proof of residency, transcript/report card, Medicaid card (if applicable), copy of their parent/guardian ID, vaccination certificate, custody/guardianship documents and IEP/ 504 (if applicable).

The Clarendon County Summer Revival takes place July 25-29

CLARENDON COUNTY – The Clarendon County Summer Revival will be held July 25-29 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Scott’s Branch Football Field.

The theme of the revival is, “Faith-Based Pastors and Church Leaders Take a Stand Against Gun Violence.”

Each night of revival, moderated by Elder Albert Thomas, will feature a different worship leader including Apostle Elizabeth Gibson, Rev. Michael DeCosta, Dr. WT Johnson, Pastor Billy Carlisle and Thomas.



Each night of revival, Linda Kind is honored. Kind is the mother of Tutu Kind, who was killed at a graduation ceremony at her home in June.

Thomas asks attendees to wear orange each night to show their support for ending gun violence.

The free finance workshop will take place on July 30th

SUMMERTON – A free financial literacy workshop moderated by Joel Nesbitt, Financial Advisor at Edward Jones Investments, will be held on Saturday, July 30 from 1-5 p.m. at Summerton Town Hall, 10 Main St.

Join the workshop to increase your financial knowledge, learn how to develop a realistic budget, learn how to build a good credit history, learn how to get out of debt and learn to save a dime when You don’t have a dime to save.

Manning Farmer’s Market now open

MANNING – The Manning Farmer’s Market on the corner of East Boyce Street and North Church Street is now open.

Support your local farmers, produce stalls and maybe a few enthusiastic gardeners selling their wares at the market every Saturday from 8am to 12pm until October.
